Step 2: Install Firebug

The Firebug tool is a Firefox extension that enables you to examine and manipulate your web pages, stylesheets and JavaScripts inside the Firefox browser. The homepage for Firebug contains documentation, help and user guides and is located at getfirebug.org. Firebug itself is a recognized Firefox add-in and it can be downloaded from the Firefox add-ins site. The attached screen cast demonstrates the installation of Firebug and demonstrates its inspection window.

If you are interested in how Firebug can be used, its author Joe Hewitt gave a demonstration of Firebug 1.0 to the Yahoo! developers back in January 2007.
