+====== An Evaluation of Greenfoot for Introducing Programming to Engineers (CPJ-X-3-2008) ======
+[[http://www.greenfoot.org/|Greenfoot]] is a new Java development environment for Java that is aimed at introducing programming to high-school students. It makes use of compelling graphical simulations to overcome the barrier to entry that programming courses typically introduce. This project will evaluate the greenfoot programming language with a view to seeing if it could be used as an introduction to Programming for Engineers. A comparison with an existing “[[http://www.bluej.org/about/papers.html|Objects-First]]” approach using [[http://www.bluej.org/|BlueJ]] (an earlier introductory [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Java_(programming_language)|Java]] [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Integrated_development_environment|IDE]] developed by the same team as Greenfoot) will be part of this project.
