In [[Internet]] terms, an //end-system// (or "[[host|host]]") is any computing device that is connected to another computing device via a network to create a [[application|network application]]. Traditionally, end-systems would have been desktop computers, laptops and network servers. However, in the modern Internet, end-systems can be televisions, game consoles, mobile phones, MP3 players, smart picture frames, media servers, and even domestic appliances.
