====== Application Protcol ====== The network [[protocol]] that is used to allow the [[client]] and [[server]] [[process|processes]] of a [[application|networked application]] to communicate across a network. In the [[Internet]], //application protocol// messages will be carried by either [[TCP]] (for [[connection-oriented|connection-oriented services]]) or [[UDP]] (for [[connectionless|connectionless services]]).
